Pair of Chinese Imperial Yellow Foo Dogs
Imperial Yellow was first introduced during the Ming Dynasty and created in Jingdezhen. The rich yellow glaze was reserved for ceremony and the ruling class. The imperial kilns created pieces in this color into the Qing Dynasty, when the kilns at Jingdezhen closed.
This pair of foo dog joss stick holders have a deep yellow glaze and each measure 6” x 4.25” x 2.5”
