Louis Comfort Tiffany was deeply influenced by the ancient glass he had seen overseas in London. From his Tiffany Furnaces factory in Queens, New York, he perfected his methods for Favrile (derived from the Old English word fabrile meaning hand-wrought) glass and gilt bronze.
