Alexander Calder Under the Sun, 1976 Pennsylvania Ballet Lithograph
In 1976, the Pennsylvania Ballet debuted a work in tribute to the American artist Alexander Calder. In honor of the debut, a lithograph was made featuring a piece by Calder from 1975. This is an original lithograph, signed in pencil by Calder. Calder featured the sun in many of his print works, along with the moon and stars. One would imagine that his mobiles, which hold the gaze upward, also reference these heavenly bodies.
Note: It had been framed and is in very good condition and measures 40 inches by 24 inches.
