The Santo Domingo Pueblo of northern New Mexico is known for the flat round heishi beads they create from turquoise, shell, coral, and other minerals. Each heishi is made by the artisan and matched for size and color. 

This five strand Santo Domingo necklace is 26 inches and is from the mid 20th century. The necklace features a beautiful design made of perfectly matched heishi beads in turquoise, jet, and shell. The clasp is hand-hammered sterling silver. The necklace comes from the estate of a collector and had a label with a price of $1500.
