Antique Victorian Bloodstone Intaglio of Poseidon
An intaglio pendant of the Greek God Poseidon, with his trident, from the late 18th century. Expertly carved in a semi-translucent dark green stone with flecks of red in a gold-filled chased setting. Bloodstone was very popular in the Victorian period, as were intaglios of Greek Gods, a symbol of your having taken a Grand Tour of Europe.
